Jambase.com: ERIC MCFADDEN ON TOUR -
Eric McFadden may just be one of the hardest working performers in the business. Fresh off a European tour with Eric Burdon and the New Animals, McFadden returns to the states and hits the ground running. He will finish out the spring on the road with the Eric McFadden Trio in support of their new album, Joy of Suffering.
The Eric McFadden Trio features McFadden on guitar and vocals and James Whiton on the acoustic bass along side drummer Jeff Cohen a long-time friend and musical compatriot - this dynamic line-up is the latest incarnation for one of music's most prolific personalities. In addition to being in several successful bands on the west coast, McFadden has independently produced several solo albums which are regarded as underground masterpieces by fans and critics alike. Guitar Player Magazine: Eric McFadden’s Multi-Colored Iconoclastic Gypsy Soul -
Eric McFadden was destined to be different. His mother sang in an early incarnation of the Fugs, the Ed Saunders-led New York ensemble that was arguably the first underground rock band. Bob Dylan slept on the McFadden couch while Eric was still in the womb, and counter culture poet (and neighbor) Allen Ginsberg successfully protested when the family was faced with eviction from their Greenwich Village apartment. McFadden’s father turned Eric on to Jimi Hendrix and the Mahavishnu Orchestra at a young age—influences he would combine with flamenco, punk, and heavy metal to form a unique style. Eric McFadden along with friend / collaborater, Pat MacDonald, have just finished an 8 song ep to be released late February. The duo goes under the name Crack Daniels, named after the deceased father of the two half brothers, Cracker and Blacker Daniels. Look for their new release, Medicine, coming out soon. What hideous whiskey-soaked love tryst begat the sons of Crack Daniels I fear to imagine. Somewhere in the backwoods of radio free America, their cracklin souls scratched out of the transistor speakers into our generation. Like time-warped Troubadours from a past with talent unlike todays, the sons of Crack Daniels have grown together in a new musical form. Cracker and Blacker create something entirely unique and apart from their own sounds. Together they create something that Morphine, Primus and Hank Williams would all hear in their waking nightmares.
Bad Reputation records out of Paris, France has released a two cd set of
Eric's music spanning the last 10 years of his recording career. The

it sounds like a really
eerie carnival is on the outskirts of town.
From flamenco to metal and all stops
in-between, this band will rock you.
There's a Tom Waits-y seediness to the songs
and lyrics, but sometimes it's so heavy it
may crush you with the undead spirit of motorhead...when the band is done feasting
on your bones, you will thank them and ask
them to come again." -The Mishky /
Telluride Daily Planet, August 2004

Slang is the brainchild of a couple of Eric's pals, Dave Schools (Widespread Panic)
and Layng Martine III. The Bellwether Project, a collection of ten unique tracks,
stems from a decade long friendship and the gradual intertwining of musical
sensibilities. It is a record of complementary forces, fusing Schools' roots in
improvisational rock with Martine's work in musical montage.
